Thread: Auto-disable screensaver while rendering?

  1. #1

    Question Auto-disable screensaver while rendering?

Is there an option I am not seeing that will automatically disable the screen saver while I am rendering? It's tedious to keep turning it on and off.
Why am I an editor? ...because I'm a bad filmer!

There isn't one all you can do is turn off the screen saver if you don't want it on while rendering.

It's such a pain in the a$$ I will be sitting here doing something else while its rendering for like an hour and get up for 10 min come back and my screen saver is on screwing up the render. Or I will forget I disabled it and my desktop will burn into my monitors for a few hours.

It will only burn if it has the same image, and presumably it will only have the same image if you are not actually using the screen.
My monitors all have a fantastic gizmo called a power switch. If you haven't got one I suggest you invest in one

I may be missing something, but aren't screensavers largely redundant? Aren't they only relevant to CRT and plasma?

How so? The screensaver has no effect on rendering that I know of...

Many of today's screen savers are complex applications with sophisticated graphics and a lot of people like them.
