Thread: Meta data in CD tracks

Default Meta data in CD tracks

I've concluded from reading various articles that meta data cannot exist in CD audio format, only in WMA and MP3. This, however, does not explain how come commercial audio CDs contain title meta data.

    Do you know about this?
    Thanks in advance.

They don't. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that the software playing the CD connects to a database. This references number of tracks and the length of the tracks (essentially the meta data) to determine possible albums. The user is then presented with possible matches and must chose one.
