Thread: MPEG 2 to DVD - need help

  1. Default MPEG 2 to DVD - need help

    Hi all

This is my first question posted on the forum so I hope it will be a good start. I have exported a film in Premiere pro CS4 as MPEG 2 format, I also tried MPEG2-DVD format as well. The result....I have two files, one video and one audio making up the full film.

How do I burn these files as one on DVD to be played on DVD players? Should I join them first and then burn or is there something else?
I don't have Adobe Encore and I usually burn DVDs using Nero 9 however Nero doesn't accept the audio file and for some reason reduces the video file by 50%.

Please help, any advice I will be most grateful for.

  3. Default MPEG 2 to DVD issues

Thanks to all of you who have replied so far. I exported the film (using Premiere pro CS4) using MPEG2-DVD format, adjusted a couple of settings and its come out great. However my next issue is as follows:
When I play the MPEG 2 on my PC, video looks good and audio plays fine. When I burn it onto DVD using Nero 9 I get great video but NO audio. Any suggestions here as to what I am missing?
The files I have when I export are the video (MPEG2), an mpg.xmpses file and another xmp file. Are the xmp files the audio?? I can only add the video file onto Nero 9.

It sounds as though what you need is a DVD authoring program - rather than just burning the files to a DVD disc, which is different. An actual DVD will consist of Vob (Video Object) files.

you should convert mpeg2 to vob for burning to DVD , you can use THIS CONVERTER TO do that ,
