  1. Default buying new laptop

    hey

i know this is a boring subject and there's hundred million threds like this but i'm REALLY confused.

i have canon eos 550d/rebel T2i which makes videos in full hd.
i want to buy a laptop. will this acer handle the editing?

    Intel Core i5-480M (2.66 GHz - 2.93 GHz, 3 MB cache)
RAM 8192 MB (SODIMM DDRAM3, 1066 MHz, maks. 8 GB)
    500 GB SATA 5400
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6550, 1024 MB DDR3

i have no idea if i need a full hd screen in the laptop?

    please help, i can't sleep... :(
    thanks and love

Adobe Premiere ? ....yes would be a bit hefty for a dual core laptop. someone recommended to me the recently released Serif Movie Plus X5. s'posed to handle HD footage easily by creating proxy files so saving the need to render footage on the timeline before use. can also create avchd disc on regulat DVDs apparently. I s'pose it depends what you want from your editing program but for 60 it could to be worth a punt ? supplied with a free green screen too
