Thread: previewing two clips at once

  1. Default previewing two clips at once

I have Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e.
I have been given a task to perform which I think I was a bit too quick to volunteer for (I think we've all done that at some time!).

I have two versions of a corporate training film (converted to mpeg2). One has a French voice-over and is 22mins long, the other is in English and just 18mins long, as it has a few scenes missing.

I need to produce a new edit that is the full 22mins, but with the English sound track. I can't just swap the sound track because the sound track would not match because of the extra scenes, plus I need to be a bit careful with the edit as there is also background music Also the video quality is irratic and I need to select which scenes to compile into the 'new' cut - which adds to my dispair.

Is there an easy straightforward way I can run both mpeg2 files simultaneously from the time line to enable me to more easily edit? or does anyone have a better solution for this problem

  2. #2

    Default

    Video 1 on Track 1

    Video 2 on Track 2

Now go to Track Header of T1 and use Track Motion to adjust to fit Preview

Now go to Track Header of T2 and use Track Motion to adjust to fit Preview

You now have both Video streams showing.

Thanks Grazie I knew there had to be a way, just couldn't get my head around how to do it!
