    Are you serious?
    Changing the length of a clip (or an "event" in Vegas speak) on the timeline is about the most basic function of any editor.
    I suggest you work through the interactive tutoruials (under Help)
    But to get you going, you grab one end of the event (your still image) on the timeline and drag it left or right.

    Got to admire your ambition naviobb - jumping straight into editing with something as complex as Vegas pro 10. As you work your way through it, be sure to check out the tutorials on youtube. There's a zillion of 'em on there.

    Just to say, I can't believe that intro made it into an professionally made show.
    It was absolute garbage. It annoyed me enough to post, and that rarely happens.
    So perhaps don't copy it too closely - you can do much better.
