This reminds of an ad somebody took out in a high fidelity stereo magazine years ago. They were selling replacement "knobs" for the volume and tone controls on certain receivers claiming that their knobs were made of real wood instead of the factory plastic knobs, and therefor were more sensitive to vibrations, producing a better sound.

I always wanted one of those knobs that went up to 11 for my Marshal top (band speak for amplifier).

I hope you've all cicked the drop down on the combo box for length.

To be fair it does have an LED and an arrow which indicates which direction to plug it in.

This always anoyed me, in the relation to high price XLR cable that I knew nothing about, until tonight when I had an ITR friend around. We were talking of a 12 screen muliti display setup he was doing for something I cant talk about. Any way, it seems these cables do make a difference, just not to us as vodeo editors.

David, none of these cables are carrying more than twelve volts. I could carry twelve volts on a strand of hair. And keeping interference out is hardly rocket science. When I was a kid cables were much better made than they are today and sold for next to nothing. I don't know of a single modern cable maker that makes good shielding even though it's cheap to make. The big, blocky male connectors they mold onto the ends now are nothing but overweighted junk that only serves to wear out female connectors real quick. You could buy a 30' XLR cable for ten bucks in the 70s, and it would be light weight, had shielding that out-classes everything made today, and would last for twenty years. (I still have some Switchcraft cables that are at least 20 years old and keep out interference from my old interference prone DBX 160XT compressor better than every modern cable I've tried).
