    its music videos, dvd rips that i downloaded off of mirc, there m2v and i badly need to edit them but it seems like it freezes the computers up when i load them up onto premiere. if u know of a program where i can convert them into mpeg 2 or avi or something else where i can edit it and put it on my dvd at good quality leave me a message,or im me on aim or yahoo, thanx

    try loading them into virtualdub, which you can download from .

    Not all editing applications edit in MPEG very well (this is due to the way in which the MPEG is encoded). There's a few cheap(ish) editing apps that are designed for MPEG including MPEG video wizard and VideoRedo (although this is really more for simply joining and cutting).

    Alternatively use VirtualDub (or similar) to convert to DV AVI. Simply download VirtualDub and the panasonic DV codec and convert to DV AVI for editing. Any problems, post back

    you will need the mpeg2 mod of vdub, but it's easy to find.

    from there, resize to dvd-res ('cos it sounds like it'll be svcd), and encode as huffyuv/wav audio, and then fire it into your preferred mpeg encoder ready for authoring in your preferred dvd authoring app.

    Actually, tmpgenc or whatever should load in an svcd-compliant file no bother, skipping the vdub part.
