Thread: Sony Vegas - some AVI files cannot be dragged

Question Sony Vegas - some AVI files cannot be dragged

Some of my AVI files can be dragged to the Project Media of Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 (and other Sony Vegas) but the AVI files that I recorded using my Kingcom DV57HT camcorder, they cannot be dragged to the timeline. How's that? Is there a program that can help fix the AVI files? Thank you.

AVI is an umbrella name covering a number of codecs. You will need to establish the codec (G Spot should help and it's free) and then convert it to an acceptable codec (I haven't used it but am told that Handbrake -- also free-- is pretty good).
