Default Sony Vegas pro 10 glitch. Looking for solution

I've been using this program for a little while but since I've started using the 1080p footage from my Sony A33 dslr camera there's been an issue with it. The footage is difficult to work with as it appears broken and jumpy in the preview window making any sort of editing impossible, the problem is worse if the footage is slowed down or sped up. I've defragmented the hard drive and wiped plenty of data in order to speed the computer up a bit but the problem persists.
    Any advice is appreciated

I have had a same problem: the preview is slow and jumping.
Have you chose in the project settings "template HD 1080-60i (1920x1080; 29,970 fps)" ? Because the slowing and jumping could be due to the default project setting, which is not HD.
But if you have chosen the right settings, and the preview is still jumping, I think that then it is due to computers speed, because HD editing uses a lot of computer power.

Even if I had chosen the right settings,my preview is still a bit jumping and slowing (due to my computers speed). Then I just render and render the video again and again to see what its look like. Take a lots of time, but its one solution.

    Hope that something helps=)
