Default unknown effect for dramatic moments!

Hi all, first time poster so excuse me for being a noob!

Right, straight into it, essentially, the camera is looking at someone or something fairly close up, usually with some scenery in the background (such as trees), something 'shocking' will happen, dramatic music starts, and while the person the camera is looking at stays at the same range, the scenery in the background zooms out quickly. Any ideas?

If any of you have the film 'behind enemy lines' the effect is on there quite a few times.

Hopefully this made sense to someone!

The technique is called "Dolly Zoom" Google that.
Notably used in Hitchcock's "Vertigo" and later in Spielberg's "Jaws".
Fundamentaly the camera moves on a track away from the subject as the lens zooms in in perfect synchronization (or vice versa).
