    Default Ripping software advice

I am trying to edit a friend's wedding dvd (she isn't happy about the end product so I want to cut bits out). I have tried to rip the original dvd onto my computer but the quality is really bad, very pixelated and jerky.
Can anyone recommend a rip software, the cheaper the better, which will rip the dvd to a good standard?

    Many thanks

See if you can get the original footage, the problem is the video is already compressed. then once you re-edit it, you'll compress it again making the quality even worse.

with that said most NLE's have capture from disc. try looking at the diffrent trials to see what you like, but be warned that MPEG is a licensed codec and most trial wont let you use it because it has to be registered

I know Sony Vegas lets you rip directly from the DVD.
