Thread: Can I have chapter markers on my film without burning it to DVD?

  1. Default Can I have chapter markers on my film without burning it to DVD?

I'm projecting a video as backdrops for a play and I need to have chapter markers in my film so that I can skip scenes easily if the actors slow down or speed up.

But can I put chapter markers in on FCP without burning it to a DVD. I've inserted chapter markers on FCP on my film and exported it but it doesnt work in VLC player. Is it because it has to be on a DVD to work or am I doing something wrong.

I just don't like playing videos live of DVDs without the fear of it skipping. Harddrives are much better to use.

You can create a master DVD file/folders and not burn it to a disk.

Can you tell your DVD software to make a master file or something similar. I don't have a Mac so I don't know exactly what to tell you.
