    Default 8 gb sd card help

    hi all newbie from merseyside, help wanted ive just bought a samsung smxf33bt 8gb flashcam , will all 8gb sd cards work with my camcorder or do i have to by a special compatible one , if so which ones. regards len

    Hi! Welcome to the forums and the world of video editing! Looking at the specs of your new camera, it doesn't sound like it's going to demand a high data rate. This means that you shouldn't need to be worried about the "class" of SD card you get. (For a quick run through of the types, see Guide to SD/SDHC Camcorder Memory Cards.) I would suggest you look at getting a class 2 card - otherwise you'll end up spending more or cards than you did on the camera!

    thanks marc ,the link was very imformative 8gb class 2 then, would it be safe to put a 16 gb in it or wought it damage the camcorder

    No damange will be done, but check your manual to make sure it will recognise the card. It is possible that there is a limitation on the capacity that can be used.
