There is little doubt that mpeg has become the standard video format on the net and home video.

Waaay back (2002) when this app's video capabilities were being added; Mpeg gave you the ability to start and stop play anywhere in a clip. For that reason Mpg format became the focus. (Avi Wmv and Vob) videos do play.

When developing custom software; you can suit yourself and that's just what this beauty does. The program has features the others will be working on for years.

The 'golf' option plays each short video clip then its' last 3 seconds (the swing) in slow motion. Within 10 minutes of leaving the golf course the nearly 200 video clips (from 2 camcorders) are up and playing on the clubhouse screen. No software does it better or faster than that. None.

A similar feature for wild wild party video gigs. The Profanity Delay / Censorship option 'XXX' prevents the final 3 seconds of video from playing. Someone says something nasty. Shut off recording. Someone does something illegal shut off recording etc etc.

By creating a 'mini' video (2secs or less) as the golfers approach the tee; a 'group break' record is created. Now the play back can be done 'random by foursome'. OR for Real Estate - shoot a mini clip outside the house and 5 or 6 from inside and have videos play 'random by property' in the office window.

This player can continuously pick a random video then play a random segment. Freezing for 4 seconds on the last frame. If you have lots of video you'll enjoy random.

Swamp Video has a number of other great video features. The above are the key ones the competition doesn't have.

A popular video format like MPEG is nothing without great video playback capabilities. Swamp video and desktop search is by far the greatest mpeg player to date. Or any date.

Buy the cheapest CamCorder "with a Remote Control"

This is the most important feature on any Camcorder. Because it gets rid of the jiggle at the beginning and end of every video 'caused by' pushing the Start/Stop Record button. The start and finish of each video clip is extremely important "because" video sites play the videos and when finished; either the First or Last frames remain up on the screen. Fuzzy movement in these frames is crap.

Example:
We were out and about looking at some property. The primary video responsibility was to capture the Phone# and Name on the 'for sale' signs and the Camcorder has a GPS option so we could look the over-view up on google maps later. Before I started recording; I zoomed way out into some beautiful clouds at sunrise and turned recording on. (using the REMOTE) after a couple seconds I reduced the zoom to ZERO and pan the general area slowly. Then zoomed in on the Sign details and hit STOP on the RC.

So when possible; try to frame something nice at the beginning and end of each video. Without a RC you would have to EDIT Out the blurry beginning and end segments on almost every video.

Come on manufacturers Wise up and put this option on the lower end Camcorders or else!! You competition will and you'll be history.

The DVD version is way better; Higher resolution (mpeg vs flash), Instant switching between mini clips and the last 3 seconds (the Swing) in Super Slow Motion..

This year we will have camcorders at 3 or more holes for even better coverage. The pros will be jealous. With 6 camcorders there will be 600+ video clips, that amount will still easily fit on a DVD.

The SPECIAL playback software recognizes a short-short video (2 secs or less) as a break record. So within 15 minutes of leaving the course, the Big Clubhouse screens will be up and playing random-by-foursome, by-hole along with slo-mo swings. Nobody can do this faster or easier.

Have the sponsor contribute a Mpg video or 2 to pitch for their latest and greatest NEW product!! These DVD's will be keepers for all the participants...

All home video can make good use of these simple non-linear playback controls. "Start Here & Play to There".. Along with the occasional 'play again' or 'slo-mo' that section..

Video without commentary and captioning soon lose relevance. It's so easy to add and it's permanent in an external file.

The latest option is great...
the App can have the video start at: 10.001 seconds in and play for 1/25 second
Then restart the play at 10.002 sec playing for another 1/25 sec
then 10.003 playing 1/25 sec
.
.
.
The old way would play 1/25 of a second and pause for 5/25 of a sec
then play the next 1/25 and pausing for 5/25 sec.

The FF option shows off the same video segment beautifully and slows down Play...
