    Default after effects newb questions

Im starting to work with after effects, and im sure i will have a ton of questions, i don't think anyone would appreciate me making a thread for each one. Im using after effects 7.0

Right now im watching a tutorial, and when the teacher changes the values of scale/position/orientation etc, the video shows those changes on the fly. On my computer it is only changing them if i actually let go of the mouse and change the value. How do i get them to change as im sliding the values around?

another problem im having. Is if i have two or more views open and i hit play, only 1 view will play. The other views will only change when the animation has stopped

Asking people here to help train you in After Effects is just too big a thing. I suggest you pop along to your local bookshop or amazon or whatever and search for the excellent books by Chris and Trish Meyer. Buy a few of them and work thorugh them. You'll get it.
