    Default Are these specs suitable?

Hey all, I have been vlogging for a little while now, but I am having trouble with my pc, it will not edit video in HD without lagging up and crashing, jeez, it even lags up a lot using just VGA, im looking to get a new pc, and I need it to be capable of easily editing my videos in 720/1080p HD, will these specs be alright for me?

    CPU: Intel® Core i3 530
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Motherboard: Asus P7H55-M
    Memory: 4GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 2GB)
    Hard Drives: 1TB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4550 512MB
    Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio

I dont want to pay for a new pc, only to find it still lags up when editing HD video.

I'd say there's nothing wrong with that spec, in fact my PC is probably nowhere need that spec and I can edit just fine with no lag, no dropped frames on capturing, my only downside is that rendering out final could be a bit quicker. I'm using Premiere Pro CS3 and I can have After Effects open on my dual monitor and use dynamic link and there's still no real problems.

    My spec, FYI:

    CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+ @2300MHz
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Motherboard: ECS GeForce 6100V
    Memory: 2GB SDRAM PC2-6400 (399MHz)
    Hard Drive: 500GB S-ATA RAID
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB
Sound card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy EAX HD 5.1

It should be ok, although a quad core processor would be more suitable (see i5 and i7) and a second hard drive for storing your original footage on would help the rendering process (i.e. seperate drives for footage and editing programme) would mke the process easier. Running 64-bit will also allow you to add more RAM if needed in the future. HIH

That's a pretty decent setup. Could it be that your HDD is only a 5400RPM model?
