Thread: Canon XM2 Big Problem in Camera mode, please help!

Default Canon XM2 Big Problem in Camera mode, please help!

When I turn my camera onto the (camera) mode, I only have 2 options (record and pause), I can't just simply look into my LCD screen without having to press record/pause.

Once I am in Camera Mode, I CANNOT take it off. I can't turn it back to a normal mode, I only have the option of record/pause. I can't just keep it on record, so if I turn it to pause the power save feature kicks on after 2 minutes and shuts down my camera.

I just don't know what to do. I have tried shutting off my camera and turning it back on, it won't change the settings. I can't just turn it to camera mode and see what I want to record through the LCD screen. I've never had a problem like this, can you please help me? Thankyou!

This is a standard feature of cameras to preserve battery life; it's assumed that you don't need to film if you don't hit record within a certain timeframe? Why do you want to leave the viewfinder active for long periods witout recording? You can always use the optical viewfinder rather than the LCD one.

According to your manual, you can set the auto power to VCR STOP rather than SHUT OFF. Only the recording functions of the camera will be switched off. See page 34 of your manual.
