    Default Audio channels Sony Z1

Hi I'm a new user on a Sony z1 camera and have a small problem with the audio channels. I've been told to set the 2 channels at different levels in case of peaking etc. However when I do this the recorded sound is only audible on one of the headphones. When I equalise the audio channels, the problem disappears

any thoughts/advice? Am I being stupid? Thanks

I think you have answered your own question. It may be a good precaution to have one channel set a little lower than the other to safe guard against peaking. I haven't heard of this idea but I see the logic in it. Just have one channel a LITTLE bit less than the other one and you should be ok.
