    Default stills extraction

Hi my first posting on the forum, so if this is the wrong place please move this question.
Is it feasible to extract good high definition, in focus stills from a video taken with a camcorder?
I have a choice to either spending a lot of money on a DSLR with a high continuous frame per second rate or find a alternative vie the above

    thank you

This all rather depends on what you call High Definition. High Definition video (unless you go into serious kit like the RED One) is 1920x1080 pixels (and more often 1440x1080 with non-square pixels).

That's only about 2Megapixels. Plenty high enough for many purposes but for yours? You decide.
