Default Panasonic PV-GS80, What Do You Think about the quality?

Just got my camera from ebay - used Panasonic PV-GS80 miniDV. My firts camcorder. I am not satisfied with the video quality. What do you think? I know it's been shooted on sunset, but still. It was recorded on barnd new tape.
Captured and edited in Sony Vegas.
After the capturing Vegas indicated 600 and something dropped frames. Is this from the capturing process or the camera's fault? What does it mean?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

The dropped frame issue could be the capture process or the camera. It could simply be that the head needs a clean. or your firewall was interrupting the capture or a list of other things.

As for the picture quality well thats hard to say after you have edited it and uploaded to YouTube. Thats two lots of rendering and the footage was not exactly the best. Having said that it didn't look to bad. Once you using with some half decent light it will look fine I'm sure. The SG80 is not really known for it's low light capability.

I hope you have fun with it.
