    Default New Sony Vaio slow with Studio 14

    Just bought a new Sony Vaio laptop:
    * 1.7 GHZ Quad Intel I7
    * 4Gb RAM
    * NVidia CUDA graphic
    * Microsoft 7

    Got this "high end" laptop so I would have no issues running Studio 14, but I still find that the program "lags" at times. I can understand that it might be a bit slower when working with AVCHD files, but lately it seems slow when working with older files (AVI, WMV, etc...).

    Thought by going with the I 7 processor, I would have no issues, but frankly I'm not that impressed.

    Any suggestions?

    The only thing that springs to mind is that you may have started to exceed the recommended level of free space. Performs tends to drop as your drives reach capacity.
