    Default cassette to dvd

Here again with another very basic question.
What is the easiest and most cost effective method of transferring my old cassette tapes onto dvd.
My camcorder has given up the ghost and another one I bought for about a 5 had similar problems.
I have contemplated buying another second hand camcorder in working order from e/bay, but would I need to buy any further equipment to carry out the transfer.
I estimate I have in the region of 30 tapes to transfer.
    Many thanks in anticipation.
PS I have access to both a desk top and lap top pc.

I'm assuming that buy cassette you mean some sort of SVHS or other analogue camcorder.
If so the answer is "yes" - you will need some sort of analogue to digital converter.
The Grass Valley ADVC55 ADVC55 | Grass Valley should do the trick. It's about 150 and you'll need a firewire card in your PC (can be had for 10-15 if you don't already have one).
Or Pinnacle Dazzle at considerably less might do the job.Dazzle Video Creator: Pinnacle video capture & video editing software
