Default Sony Vegas PRO 9 rendering issue

Hi i recently re installed my copy of Sony Vegas pro 9 , and proceeded to make a short movie of me playing guitar , with a few overlays , i then set my parameters, i.e markers of points to render, i then went to render and just selected a standard size of wmv at 3mps, considering my video only last 1m50s i thought the render would be pretty quick,

But heres my problem, the render didnt even start it just stays on 0% but the estimated time continues to climb, so i click cancel and it just says render cancelled by user , and just freezes the program so i have to shift+alt+delete and close it down manualy

So then i rebooted the program and my project, and set to render again at a different quality rating, and the same happend, ive tried every setting possible in the rendering and still the render diaglog box contiues to display 0% while the estimated time climbs higher and higher

Please can someone please help ??
