Thread: What property settings to use?

Default What property settings to use?

I am rendering some sheep shearing footage with Sony Vegas Pro 9.
When I render it at DVD quality (640 x 480) it comes out ok. With WMV setting.
When I render it at HQ WMV it comes out blurry at times.

I was wondering what settings I should be using to create the new file with.
    It is for PAL.

Settings at moment are 1440x1080, none progressive scan, 0% rotation, 8 bit, best, Gaussian asymmetric, and none for video.

    Frame rate 25 for PAL.

Any suggestions what I might be doing wrong?
When I render at MPEG HDV 1080-50i it is also blurry.

    Cheers

Do you actually say what the Media specs are? I'm having difficulty in reading this important piece of info amongst your other figures. Maybe it's there, if so spell it out for me - please?

Media = The type and resolution of the original material you imported into Vegas.

    Specs = Shorthand for Specifications

So, what were/are the media specs of the original media?

    720x576

    Is that what you mean?

Is there a way to import it at a higher resolution?

I am just using the windows import tool at the moment.

Set you project properties to the media specs.
The DVD should be 720 by 576 and not what you have got.

Check the data rate is appropriate to avoid the blurriness
