    Default Driver problem

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I'm new to camcorders ! I've just bought a Sony handycam dcr pc103e from ebay and i've captured lots of footage. I'm struggling to get it onto my computer. When i connect it to the pc with the usb, it doesn't eve recognise it. I'm guessing this is because I need to download a driver. I've looked in the manual and it say that i need imagemixer ver 1.5. My question is where can i download this from ? thanks for looking, Sonya

You don't say which Operating System you are using.
The software may be on Sony's website.
    Perhaps it is this one:
Digital Imaging | DCR-PC103E | Sony Support Europe

Ok Ive downloaded from there only still nothing happens when I connect the camcorder with the usb. I've clicked on my computer and there is no icon to say it's connected either ! I think I'll send an email from the seller on ebay, they are a top rated seller and specialise in cameras and camcorders so hopefully they will help, thanks, Sonya

I think that this is a miniDV camera. Try connecting via firewire.

thanks, you are right, the seller has told me to connet via firewire only i don't know what that means ! the camera came with a usb cable, a mains charger and a cable to connect to the tv with 4 connectors (3 being the red, yellow and white ones) I can't find any way to connect this to the back of my computer. My pc is about 7 years old so I'm guessing that it doesn't have a firewire connection. Where do I go from here ????

Without a Firewire connection, I suspect the only way is to use the USB (which will be slower to transfer files).
Did you get a manual with the Camera?
According to http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/3081627112.pdf (page 209) refers to setting the Camera to "usb streaming" mode. Does that make a difference?

It also suggests that their software (Imagemixer) may be required; but I suspect not.
