    Default DVD burners/writers

My dvd drive seems to be on the fritz and I need to get a new one. From searching around on the interweb, there are lots more choices than I exptected.

I'd like some recommendations on a reliable dvd burner to buy.

    Thanks a million,
    JJ

(I have an HP, 743g pavillion. It has 512 ram and 2.4 ghrtz processor...all I know as of now.....what do I need to know about it when buying a dvd drive?)

I swear by the NEC ones (3520A?) Others here like the Pioneer ones. The important thing is that, at less than 40 for a dual layer 16 speed drive, there's no need to go for a 'no name' brand.
    Premiere Pro, Encore, Photoshop, Ulead VS6, WXP Pro, Core 2 Duo, 2GB, 2 x 250GB SATA3 drives, 2 x 250GB USB 2 external drive, DVD writer, GeForce 7300 GS 256MB

    Default Alright

Thanks, I'll probably go with a Pioneer. Doesn't NEC stand for Nintendo Entertainment Center?

What do you mean by no-name brands? The cheaper ones that have weird unheard of names like 'Coby' or something, trying to pretend they're like Sony?
