Default what file format do I use to output to DVD?

    Hi there
I am making a DVD menu in iDVD for the final output and that renders the movie file into a DVD format. So in After Effects do I render the movie to MPEG2-DVD format? Not sure which is the best format to use for out putting to a DVD in After Effects. Am I write in thinking it uses MPEG2 for a standard DVD movie. Sorry if these questions are a bit basic but I am new to video editing and all these formats and other issues with video are very confusing.
    Thanks for your help

    indeed DVD uses MPEG2.
The only thing you want to watch out for is the bitrate. the higher the bitrate the better quality you get.
how long is the content you want to put on DVD?
