Thread: Audio levels - Vegas 8 Platinum

Question Audio levels - Vegas 8 Platinum

How do I make sure that the volume levels are within reasonable levels so that once I render and burn my film to DVD there's no need to adjust the volume whilst watching?

    Default

Use the audio level meters in Vegas to see if you are loud enough or peaking to much. If the level meters go between -5db and 0 at the loudest parts of the piece that is usually a good level. You may need to change the volume envelope in quite parts but you will have to do this by ear.

It's a good idea to calibrate your system so you can do it by ear. If you play a familiar CD on your computer to set the volume knob on your computer. Most CDs will be about the same volume but it may be worth checking a few to get a good average.

    Hope this helps.
