Hi, I've got a Sony Mini DV cam that I want to do video editing with. I have a firewire card on an old pc which only has 1 gb of ram (2.6ghz processor, and intergrated graphics and win XP) and I'm finding that the quality with windows movie maker is very poor indeed. The quality when recording direct from the cam to a VCR for VHS playback is far superior.

Obviously if the quality when recording direct to VHS is far superior than direct via Firewire to DVD via PC, then there must be something wrong?

I thought about trying with my laptop but it does not have Firewire.

Does anybody have any ideas re this problem......I have a lot of family movies that I need to get on DVD quickly!!!!

Thanks in advance for any help..............
