Default any idea how to use xlr mic to sony sr-12??

help guys.. i'm a newbie here.
just want to ask opinions from all of you. is there any way to connect an xlr microphone to a sony SR-12 handycam???

for the meantime i'm using a mic condenser microphone from sony and it works good but not totally.

i've also tried putting a reducer to the mic but to no avail. no sounds at all.

tnx. and more power to everyone...

Can you post a direct link to your precise model of camera?

If your mic is a anything other than a dynamic it requires power, usually 48v phantom. This is why you can't simply use a converter to plug it into the camcorder.

.... so you need something like a Beachtek or JuicedLink with the phantom power option which will provide phantom power from a dry cell.
