The people that use the RT.X100 on here swear by it, and it will probably be a fantastic addition to your editing rig, as long as you can get it to work with your system. You'll have to be careful, because those cards, whilst powerful, aren't particularly great when it comes to compatibility.

    Looking here:

    http://forum.matrox.com/cgi-bin/rtx1...;f=10;t=002356

It seems like your motherboard should be compatible anyway.

    Good good.

So do I just buy another 2 sticks of 512 3200 and that means I have 2 gig?

If so will it make a lot of difference?
And the stuff in my pc, i knew was good stuff by reading up etc, but that was before i learnt more and more about video hardware, and seen loads of things i didnt know on this forum. So is the stuff i got alright, decent, good, very good, crap? I started feeling i wish i waited and read everything on this forum before starting to build.

    cheers

My advice is forget about the TV tuner, get a real capture card (Matrox or Pinnacle). The capture capability of any TV tuner (even good ones, like Pinnacle, Leadtek or Aver) is just a gizmo, you'll hate it. Plus, they generate a lot of system instability. I gave the tuner (which could capture at 640x480 max, often dropped frames and had heavy flicker) away to my nephew after purchasing the Pinnacle Studio AV/DV, never had a problem since. Also, a dedicated card will allow you to export to tape in high quality (unlike the tv-out of graphics cards). I think a real capture card would perfectly complement your editing rig.
