I've been using a couple of Sony PD170s for filming at clubs, music venues and festivals for the past few years, and have found them perfect for our needs. You can see our end products at eqtv.dj.

However, I used a Flip HD for the first time at the weekend and was really impressed, not just at the quality of the film, but also at the fact that I didn't have to capture hours for footage before starting the edit.

Does anyone know if there are any cameras out there that are offer the best of both worlds from the Flip and the 170? I know a few people who do similar work use SLRs and I'm happy to move over to those if the results are good.

My main concern would be that the camera is as good at low-light shooting as the 170.

Any advice is hugely appreciated.
