    Default DVD problems

    I have 2 problems.
1)-When I make a DVD in either MPEG or AVI, it will not play on all my DVD players (although the AVI version seems better.)

2)Although the image quality of the material on my computer is excellent, the one from the DVD on the TV screen is very contrasty.

    Appreciate any help.

You don't say what software you are using to create the DVD. BUT whatever you are using it is converting the AVI file to an mpeg2 and writing it as a vob file on the DVD. I have found that some DVD players, especially older ones, will not play self created DVDs. (DVD+-R)

As regards your second point, a TV screen and a computer monitor can create an image in a different ways as the source material is different. BUT modern LCD TVs should be ok. Could it be that your screens are calibrated differently.
