    Default Dual or Single Monitor?

    hey ppl.

I'm currently looking around for a LCD monitor or two.
As I work in Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator etc I'm not sure if i should buy a 20 inch LCD (i was looking at the dell 20" monitors which have a res of 1600 x 1200) or to go with 2 x 17" LCD's which have a max res of 1280 x 1024.

My main concern is response time. I know the dell (Dell 2001FP 20" UltraSharp LCD Monitor) response time is 16ms but all 17" i found to be 20-25ms until i had a look at Sony they have a couple of 17" that are 16ms.

    What do you guys think? either a Dell 20" (1600 x 1200) with 16ms response time or 2 x Sony 17" (1280 x 1024) with 16ms response time.

I'm a hobbyist that dabbles in "weekend work". If find a 19" LCD more than adequate for the work I do. If I did have a seperate monitor, it would probably only be used for video previews or a seperate application (i.e having the forums open) - but for this I have a seperate PC and Widescreen TV.

Some people will also tell you that LCDs are nowhere near as CRTs yada yada. At the end of the day, that's their preference. Me? I'd rather have my desk space than a monitor that doesn't give a very negligible almost undetectable ghosting if you get close and look at an angle and play high motion video.

What would I do? Probably get the big fuck off monitor, then invest in a second at later date...
