Thread: rendering shortcut

    Default rendering shortcut

    hi,

just wondering if anyone has any solutions to this. I'm currently editing a music video which has been recorded at 50fps. The footage has be converted to 25fps and then put to about 133% speed giving it a slow motion feel. It works well (doesn't have to be rendered until the change to 133% speed) but when i'm editing i have to render each time i make a change ie extend a clip a second. any ideas how i can save time without having to render each time?

    Cheers

You haven't stated what program you're using? I'll assume Final cut.
There is an RT button on the left of the sequence window, here you can select either safe RT or unlimited RT. Safe means you have to render pretty much anything but unlimited means FCP will render more on the fly meaning not so much rendering (but playback is slightly poorer quality for unrendered video).

It doesn't work for everything however, you may still need to render it every time.

Assuming you are in FCP for a moment, have you turned RT to unlimited and tweaked the playback quality to allow it to play?
