I've imported some footage from a film I'm working on into Sony Vegas 7. The footage was shot on a DVX100b in 24p widescreen squeeze mode with a RedRock M2 lens adapter. The footage, when played back on the camera's viewfinder or on a television, is fine. When rendered out of Vegas and viewed on the computer digital lines appear onscreen, usually when there's a lot of movement. I've ruled out any issues with the tape/footage itself. The problem comes after rendering out of Vegas. Can someone please recommend the settings to render out of Vegas or advise if they've had similar problems? The specs I'm rendering out to are below:
NTSC DV Widescreen 24p (2-3-3-2 pulldown)
Audio: 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, PCM Uncompressed.
Video: 23.976 fps inserting 2-3-3-2 pulldown, 720x480, Progressive.
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.212. OpenDML compatible.
Widescreen NTSC DV video files compatible with Sony Video Capture.
Project settings are:
NTSC DV 24p Widescreen (720x480, 23.976 fps)
Field order: None (progressive scan)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.2121 (NTSC DV Widescreen)
Frame Rate: 23.976 (IVTC Film)
Motion Blur Type: Gaussian
Deinterlace Method: None
Is this something to do with the field order or the deinterlace method? If someone can please let me know what the ideal project and rendering settings should be for a project of this type, I would greatly appreciate it.
*Edit* One other possible factor - using the RedRock lens adapter we don't have the image flipper so I'm flipping the footage in Vegas. I've heard that this could possibly mess with the field order, etc.
