Thread: High CPU usage

    Default High CPU usage

Creating output files (to HDD) with WinDVD 2.0 uses 100% CPU capacity (w/ no other applications running). I have Athlon 2100, 512 RAM. WinDVD's OK, it's been more consistent than ULead has (video filter doesn't work well). And WinDVD has no problem converting files. What options do I have?

Not sure I understand your question, but encoding is probably the most CPU intensive application you'll ever do on a PC.

So much so, that a lot of computer enthusiast sites use video encoding as a benchmark to test CPU speed. No matter what your CPU, encoding will probably take as much CPU power as it can.
