Default pixelation on rendering for dvd

I've tried to burn a dvd from some footage from my Sony ex1-r that Ive edited on vegas 9 pro - have rendered it as:

    -Mainconcept MPEG-2-
    -dvd architect ntsc template

but when i play back the render (on realtime) it looks pixelated?

Any ideas how I can get a dvd quality output? My project settings are 1280x720x32 23.9776p

    thank-you

btw...I'm freaking out. I know this is something very simple and the deadline for it is in 12 hours. I really appreciate any help. Thanks again.

    Default

Try increasing the bit rate it should be somewhere between 8,000,000 and 9,800,000 Kbs depending on the length of the video. The file size should not be greater than 4.7Gbs.

The size of the image should be set to 720 x 480 for a standard DVD.

    Default

if you render correctly then DVD-A should not have to re-render

Also the file size wants to be nearer 4.2Gb ish (depending on menus) as DVD-A for some reason always sees it as a larger file, say 4.6Gb (even though it is 4.1)

Also a DVD is not exactly 4.7Gb as HDD are never the capacity on the box
