ULEAD will only allow about 1 hr. of video on 2 hr./4.7 GB DVD+RW, the VCD mode only allows 700 MB on a DVD. If you use VCD mode what happens to the other 4 GB?
And I tried importing a video into ULEAD and it said there was no video data in the clip but I have no trouble playing the clip in Realplayer or DIVX! (GSPOT tells me that there are video codecs installed in the clip).
Also, I trimmed the clip in EditStudio and the output file (VCD NTSC) had no sound.
    I don't get it!
Anywhere to go to learn about DVD burning principles?

A VCD is burnt using a CD, which is why the size is limited to 700MB.

    Look at this sticky: http://www.videoforums.co.uk/ftopic380.html

If my DVD player can play a VCD then there isn't much reason to upgrade my CDRW to a DVD+RW, right? I'm not going to squeeze anymore data onto a DVD than the VCD? I went ahead and upgraded to a DVD+RW thinking that I would get more out of my discs.
