Default which processor is best for editing?

ok i have a grant for a laptop, i know that the specs aren't great but i have a choice of two and wish to know which one will be better for editing with Sony Vegas pro 9

1st choice is a Toshiba Satellite Pro L450D – UHA, this has an AMD Sempron™ Processor 2.1GHz processor

2nd choice is a Samsung R519 this one has an Intel (R) Celeron Dual Core T3100 (1.9GHz)

They can both be upgraded to 4 gig of ram

I'd appreciate any advice on this subject

I am going to be using the laptop purely for editing purposes so will only be running Sony Vegas

If I was you I would get a desk top if it's for home use. I know some people use laptops for editing but a desk top PC will give you more bang for your buck. So long as you don't need to use it "out in the field".

Well that's what I'd do any way.

I used a Toshiba Satellite L505-S6946 with a intel core 2 duo and it did great but it was a bit sluggish for what i wanted to use it for.

I Upgraded to a apple iMac 21.5in and that is perfect. Big Screen, comfortable to work with, and its a MAC!
