    Default Capture in APE 1.0

When i capture the movie from miniDV to premiere elements
it looks jerky and not continous: misses a lot of frames .
even when i export it it's the same.
    It's exasperating.
    My PC is a
    PIV 1.7 GH
    512 MB RAM
    60GB+80GB Hard Disk
    Win XP
It's a question of settings or of hardware?
Please can you help me :(

This question crops up a lot - there are many far wiser than me on these boards. But the first question is what sort of cable are you using to transfer the video to PC?

First step is to ensure you have defragmented your harddrive.

I've tried but the problem still remains
What else can i do ?
Maybe the setting of the software or do i need to improve RAM?
    Thanks so much !!
