Thread: HD 720p footage rendering option ?CS4

  1. Default HD 720p footage rendering option ?CS4

    Premiere CS4
    Windows 7

    Hello good friends

    I've recorded a 5 mins long video using a JVC HD110 camcorder .

It records HD720p (HDV-30p) footage, so I used the Preset template HDV 30p
and almost finished my project, now i have to render it.

What is the right codec to use ?

I used H264 and HDV-30p preset and rendered it, but the final output file size is only 189mb, it doesn't look right to me

I am trying to keep everything native , till I convert it back to SD.

    Thanks !

HDV uses Mpeg 2 as the native format. Try using HDV transport or Stream 720 to keep it in the same domain

    Thank You Bhai sahab !!

I was advised to use Lagarith codec and Microsoft AVI, now it looks good

But the YouTube version is only 180mb MP4
    I used a CS4 "YouTube" Preset
i wonder why the file size is so small , compare to my previous videos, which I used SD footage (DV AVI windows)

Mpeg4 , h264, flv, f4v are largely successful because they reduce the size without affecting the native quality much. But these formats are difficult format to edit.

"to keep it in the same domain" - Save back as HDV 1440 x 720 / 1080 either as transport (as in camera) or stream (as for editing)
