Thread: Far blur?

    How to make far or close objects look diffused/blur'ed?

    Something like this;
    (But only blur, not linear blur)

    The only way I can think to do this is to duplicate the track above the the original. Then mask off the objects you don't want blurred. This will be a massive job if they are a complex shape and moving.

    Add the desired Blur effect to this track. It should Blur the unmasked areas.

    Maybe there is other way using after effects?

    AE uses the same process outlined by Midnight Blue.
    It has tools to assist the "rotoscoping" to generate the masks' positions and shapes.
    I agree. It is not easy or quick.
