Question Tough challenge: Script the joining of multiple video clips

    Hi,

I have an interesting challenge. I have a bunch of video clips e.g. 10 avi files and want to find a way to automate the joining of these clips.

Here is the real challenging part. I only want to use time slices of each clip.

    e.g.

    Clip1 is 3mins long. I want to grab 1:10:03sec thru to 1:12:22sec
    Clip2 is 1min long. I want to grab 0:12:01sec thru to 0:15:02sec

and so on until I end up with a fully edited single*clip.

I want to automate it, so feed in the clip names and time slices required to a script. Anyone have any clue where to start looking and reading?

    Thanks, SC

For something that's free, your best bet would probably be a combination of avisynth and virtualdub.
