Default .movs import with just white for video.

Hello, I'm having a problem importing some video in .mov format to Premiere and After Effects. I have older versions of both programs (Premiere 6.0 and After Effects 6.5), and the footage was shot on a Panasonic using P2 format.

When I try to import the files to either editing program, the audio comes in but the video is nothing but white.

I tried importing to other newer but non-professional software (ie, Cyberlink Director), and only got an error.

Is there anything wrong with the footage? Could it even be possible to encode the footage this way to lock people out (we don't trust this videographer, which is why I ask)? Or is my software maybe not up to snuff?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks,
    Ned

As far as I understand, P2 was first supported in Premiere in Pro 3.1 - quite a few versions after yours I'm afraid.

Thanks, but is there any way to convert the footage to a readable format then? It's just in .movs now, which play fine in my players, but are just not editable.

Thanks! I tried the P2 Driver from the Panasonic website, and it seemed to make no difference... I'm downloading the Streamclip program now.
