I record all my footage in HDV format with my Canon XH-A1 camcorder and so far I have always output to PAL DV format using Adobe Premier, CS3 or CS4 (due to no request for HDV). This provides a good end product on DVD to view via a 52" plasma Panasonic TV.
I really do appreciate there is a difference between DV and HDV when watching HDV films etc., on a television.
Is there anyone out there who can, from actual experience, advise me when using Premier Pro 2, CS3 or CS4, if there is that much difference between the end product of a DVD burnt using the DV format and a DVD burnt using a Blue-Ray format, having used the Canon XH-A1 footage for both formats.
Thanks in anticipation for your help. John
