Thread: 3rd Person Tripod?

  1. Default 3rd Person Tripod?

Okay, so this effect is used in the trailer for Get Him To The Greek at around 1:27 to 1:28 and 1:35 to 1:37. It's also used in The Hangover when that dude from The Office wakes up for the first time and walks around. I`m trying to think of ways to recreate this, perhaps by holding a tripod around me some how…

Ok using my psychic ability, I think you are talking about waring a harness with the camera pointing at yourself. It's a bit like a steady cam set up but the camera points at the person wearing it. The cheapest way to do it is to hold your arm out and point the camera at your self. With practise you could may be get some acceptable footage. Another way is to wear a belt that a flag pole bearer would wear. Stick the camera on the end of a "pole" something like a mono pod (one legged tripod) perhaps a tripod would do stick the bottom end in the pouch of the belt.

Just a couple of ideas of the top of my head.
