Default Cineform NeoScene advice or not?

    Hi all

First of all I hope my english is not to bad, I'm german mothertangue and from Switzerland, .

I'm very new in the video cutting "scene".

My cam is an Canon Legria HF200 and I want use Adobe Premiere Photoshop CS3. At the moment I'm on vista 32 bit but I will definetly change to Windows 7 64-Bit.

As we all know, it's not possible to import and edit videos in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 directly when they are MTS Files or in AVCHD Format. So today I've downloaded Cineform NeoScene trial and have converted a file directly to AVI.

That's make it possible to import it into Premiere CS3 and do some video editing and export as a video in the format you ever want.

I couldn't see any quality losses in converting the AVCHD File into AVI with that tool, but I'm quit not sure to buy it for 129 $ at the moment, because I do only video cutting for my hobby.

It was really easy to convert it. May you advice me NeoScene or what are your experiences as video editing pros with NeoScene? May you can advice me some other options, maybe freeware?

It must be easy to convert and "without any" quality loss.

Thanks a lot for your help guys.

    Best regards
    Florian

Cineform is very good but if you're looking at something thats free, have a look at DNxHD.

It's compatible with premier pro and is visually lossless.
