Thread: Nearest Neighbor Video Resize?

  1. #1

    Question Nearest Neighbor Video Resize?

I've been trying to solve this problem for days. Essentially what I need to do is very simple. I need to "stretch" the width of a video using a Nearest Neighbor resize like Photoshop uses. I cannot seem to find any tool to do this nor a suitable function within Premiere.

Just so there's no confusion I've created an example in Photoshop of exactly what is desired.

    Imageshack - input.png

    Imageshack - outputl.png

No filters, blurring or blending. Every ~15th pixel is simply doubled.

    Thanks for any help,
    - J

I've never heard of any video tool to do anything like that. The nearest thing I can think of is the stretch the pixel size ie from square to 1.2 etc. This is easy is Sony Vegas but I don't know how Premier does it. It will make your video look squashed. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve and why.

In premiere, you can adjust the width out of 100 but i'm not sure how it resizes.
